Mallala Historic

Friday practice laid every condition on for competitors, with rain, showers, drizzle and dry.

We hope that the dry conditions are here to stay as the weekend commences on Saturday.

The MG contingent from Victoria is impressive. Historic Racing Australi’s Charles Rogers is competing in Regularity alongside Rodger & Lorna Chapman (MGB), Ian Brown (MGB GT), Doug Morrissey (MGB V8), Terry White (MG TC) and Adrian Brooks (MG TC “Bill Pile” Spl.

The 150 car entry list in fact includes about 40 cars from Victoria, including the Elfin’s of Pete ffrench (Elfin Clubman), John Evans (Elfin Streamliner) and Bill Hemming (Elfin T400). Kim Shearn has brought across his Lotus 18 (the 20/22 is now on its way to Europe for the European Formula Junior season), and Peter Strauss has brought two of his three Brabhams – the BT6 & BT31. It’s his first drive in the ex. Stillwell BT31 Repco, and the smile starts in Melbourne continuing to Mallala!

Qualifying kicks off Saturday morning, with racing Saturday afternoon & the whole of Sunday.

On Monday we head across to the Barossa Valley with Collingrove Hillclimb.
