NZ Festival of Motor Racing

brucemclarenfestival1In January 2010 we traveled to New Zealand’s North Island for two-weeks of historic motor sport, and a new two-week race meeting event, the NZ Festival of Motor Racing.

2010 paid tribute to Bruce McLaren.

Historic motor sport competitors Tony Roberts and Tony Richards had built the Hampton Downs track, about 40-minutes south-east of Auckland. This was the first open race meeting to be held at the venue. The following weekend saw racing move across to Pukehohe.
